I received free products in order to host a #DisneySide @Home Celebration. The opinions expressed here are my own.
Today was the day I hosted a #DisneySide @Home Celebration. I chose the theme Dash & Dine because we enjoy runDisney events (we just returned home from the runDisney Princess Half Marathon on Monday!) and food around Walt Disney World.
I made this burlap wreath to greet guests at the door.
I incorporated elements from runDisney events such as medals we have obtained from completing runDisney events as well as signs that spectators use to cheer on runners. One of my favorite details was using Disney popcorn buckets as vases.
My menu consisted of the following:
Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup (World Showcase, Epcot)
Sticky Wings (Ohana, Polynesian Village Resort)
Fruit and Vegetable Trays
Chicken Pita Pockets
Jungle Juice (Boma, Animal Kingdom Lodge)
Mickey Red Velvet Cupcakes
I had planned on having a fun run to open up the party, but I didn’t want the kids to be outside with the temperature in the 30s, so we watched Frozen (of course!) and played Pin the Smile on Mickey.
The hostess box I received had lots of goodies that I used for goodie bags such as Disney vacation planning DVDs, HP CMYK (Create Memories You Keep) Pack, nail polish, pencils, and these Minnie favor boxes that I filled with Cinnamon Glazed Almonds that can be found in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot for the adults. I supplemented these items with finds from the Dollar Tree such as puzzles and cups.
I also invited friends who were not local to participate virtually, and here is my friend Sara (you can find her on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook) who is a runDisney enthusiast with multiple half marathon medals around her neck (plus a Coast to Coast medal!). Here is her Dash & Dine picture all the way from Maryland. Thanks for participating Sara!
